My Gurus - The Most Valuable Player of the Homes!!

Beta

Hello Friends,
Welcome back!
If you are new to this blog, please read the Preamble before reading further...
It was March 21st, birthday of Prasanna - my first winner. I was bubbling in enthusiasm!! I had a chance before I left for work on that day, to talk to his mom, sister and the man himself....Prasanna, albeit a brief one.

While I drove to the station it was a big surprise. The hue of the whole sorroundings has changed dramatically overnight. The trees had sensed the Spring has started on that day. I saw them blooming the white sprouts/ flowers all around. It instilled an inspiring aura of brightness all over.

I walked to my usual Jersey Ave Station in that 55 F temperature! Now, it is a 20 degree increase since my last blog entry. As the youthful spring was very rejuvenating my mind was brimming with joy and happiness.

Once on the train, I started to chat with Jay. My happiness swelled out of bounds when i spoke to Jay on the goals Maithri and he want to accomplish in 2013.

After those two soul stirring interactions right in the morning, I opened the desktop edition of The Hindu on my beloved Windows Phone. I scrolled straight to most commented news items applet. What a coincidence!!!.... It was a news story on a student from a remote village near Tuticorin, India on how he separated himself from the masses and through his own effort got admitted to IIT Chennai, graduated and got a fabulous job offer from Google USA. Unfortunately, the reporter had created an impression that landing in USA and in Google is the ultimate achievement one can reach. The success principles of hard work, perseverance and goal oriented pursuit that the IITian - Prathab - followed got relegated in that news item by its presentation.

As I read that news item, my mind brought back the warm memories of my chat with Prasanna. I am proud to say I am passionate about mentoring students on success principles. One such person is Prasanna, who I was blessed to mentor since his college days. Despite challenges like his father's by pass surgery during his plus 2 exams, financial challenges of his family, he scored over 1100 in +2, graduated engineering with over 80% and joined a leading IT company company in India. During his years in college, based on two books I gave him - Rich Dad and poor dad and Think & Grow Rich, he set goals for himself in the final year of his college and started a small business in SEO. Today he employs more than 10 employees, has established partnership with other SEO businesses in the west besides his job. All these he does sitting in India. I am happy to narrate his success story on his birth day today. These things are possible for him because he is separating himself from the masses with his hard work and ambitions. He values time as there is no tomorrow. Over these years, he has reached a stage where he has made me realize that he is my Guru - a guru par excellence. Coming June, Prasanna would have passed an important milestone. He would have conducted his sister's marriage successfully. Because, when he read the Rich Dad Poor Dad book, he sent me a goal on saving a particular amount for his sister's marriage when she finishes graduation. She is graduating this April 2012. With that goal he set for himself to save for her wedding, in June this year he would fulfill his parents' dream. Even a father in 50's would struggle to perform the wedding of his daughter. But, what an achievement for Prasanna at a very young age of 25 years.

He is an MVP (most valuable player ) of his family that I will look upon and draw inspiration from.
May God bless him

See you soon in my next entry in which I will introduce another important Guru of mine,
